Day1 : Zurich
Visited FIFA World Cup Museum, Lindt Chocolate, Reinfall, and explored local streets of Zurich, Switzerland!
Zurich – Where History Meets Modern Switzerland
Zurich was a wonderful introduction to Switzerland, with its beautiful streets, historic buildings, and charming European atmosphere. Interestingly, the city’s history goes back more than 2,000 years, when the Romans established a customs station called Turicum around 57–58 BC. Today, Zurich is one of Switzerland’s major financial and cultural centers, beautifully blending its historic past with modern city life.

Lindt Home of Chocolate – From a Small Swiss Business to a Global Brand 🍫
Visiting the Lindt Home of Chocolate in Kilchberg was one of the sweetest experiences of our Switzerland trip! What fascinated us most was learning how a Swiss chocolate business dating back to 1845 grew into a globally recognized brand, now reaching more than 120 countries. The museum, opened in 2020, features an incredible 9.3-meter-tall chocolate fountain circulating approximately 1,400 kilograms of chocolate. Of course, the best part was tasting so many delicious varieties of chocolate throughout our visit!

Rhine Falls – Experiencing the Power of Europe’s Waterfalls 💦
Rhine Falls was truly breathtaking! Located near Schaffhausen, this natural wonder is approximately 150 meters wide and 23 meters high, making it Europe’s largest waterfall by volume of water flow. Formed around 15,000 years ago, the falls are especially impressive during summer when the Rhine River carries enormous volumes of water. Our most memorable experience was taking a boat ride very close to the roaring waterfall, feeling the mist and witnessing the incredible power of nature firsthand.

Day 2:
Interlaken – Switzerland’s Bollywood Paradise 🏔️
Interlaken was undoubtedly one of the most picturesque destinations of our Switzerland trip, nestled between the beautiful Lake Thun and Lake Brienz and surrounded by the magnificent Swiss Alps. This charming town is especially popular among Indian tourists, thanks to legendary Bollywood filmmaker Yash Chopra, whose movies showcased Switzerland’s breathtaking landscapes. Seeing his statue, unveiled in 2016, was a memorable experience for us!
One of the highlights of our visit was taking the iconic red funicular railway up to Harder Kulm, located approximately 1,322 meters (4,337 feet) above sea level. The scenic ride takes about 10 minutes, climbing steeply above Interlaken to a spectacular viewpoint overlooking both lakes and the majestic peaks of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Standing on the famous viewing platform, with panoramic Alpine scenery stretching in every direction, was simply mesmerizing! With picture-perfect views everywhere, charming streets, and amazing food, Interlaken truly felt like a scene straight out of a Bollywood movie.
